Cleveland is a city in Bradley County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 37,192 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Bradley County. It is the principal city of and is included in the Cleveland, Tennessee Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Chattanooga, Tennessee-Cleveland, Tennessee-Athens, Georgia Combined Statistical Area.

According to the Cleveland Chamber of Commerce, Cleveland is home to several industries, including household cooking equipment, foodstuff, textiles, furniture, storage batteries, pharmaceuticals, industrial cleaning products, photographic processing, industrial and domestic chemicals, and automotive parts. The city is home to Cleveland State Community College, a unit of the Tennessee Board of Regents. Several Christian demoninations are represented, with Cleveland serving as the headquarters for the Church of God of Prophecy, as well as the Church of God (Cleveland) and its affiliated school, Lee University.

There are several thoughts as to the origin of the city's name. One belief is that it is named after Cleveland, England. Other traditions say the community was named for Benjamin Cleveland, Revolutionary War soldier; or for John Cleveland, an original local settler.
